The fuel distributor, also known as mixing bowl or spider head as mentioned, is a central component of the K-Jetronic injection system.

The fuel distributor meters the amount of fuel in proportion to the amount of air drawn into the engine. The movement of the air flow meter is transferred to the control plunger in the fuel distributor via a lever system. The further the air flow meter is extended, the more fuel can flow to the injectors.

Various fuel distributors

Many different fuel distributors have been used for K-Jetronic injection systems. Which version is correct depends, among other things, on the vehicle, the engine version, and the production period.

Fuel distributors can look very similar externally, while their applications differ. It is therefore important to determine the correct part number when replacing one, and not just look at the appearance of the part.
