Special tools for the controlled compression of the valve spring and release of the rocker arm with various classic Mercedes engines.

With this tool, the rocker arm can be removed without disassembling the camshaft. This allows, among other things, rocker arms, hydraulic valve clearance elements and valve stem seals be replaced.

Instructions for use

Rotate the relevant cam to the correct position to relieve the valve actuation. Place the valve spring compressor on the designated engagement points and press the valve spring down in a controlled manner. This releases the rocker arm, allowing it to be removed.

After removing the rocker arm, depending on the engine type and the work to be performed, the following can be done, among other things: rocker arm, the hydraulic valve clearance element or the valve stem seals be replaced.

When working on the hydraulic valve clearance elements, the prescribed basic adjustment, parts, and tightening torques for the respective engine type must be adhered to.

The assembly and installation guidelines and factory specifications of Mercedes always take precedence.
