Manual for replacing cooling and heating radiators \u2013 radiators<\/strong><\/h2>

Preparation and check<\/strong><\/h3>

When replacing the radiator, also check the coolant hoses, hose clamps, thermostat, coolant pump, and other parts of the cooling system.<\/p>

We recommend thoroughly cleaning and flushing the cooling system before installing a new radiator to remove old dirt and deposits.<\/p>

Filling and venting<\/strong><\/h3>

After installation, fill the cooling system with the coolant prescribed for the specific vehicle and engine type, and carefully bleed the system.<\/p>

Final inspection<\/strong><\/h3>

Test run the engine and check the entire cooling system for leaks. Also check that all cooling hoses and hose clamps are correctly installed. Then let the engine cool down and check the coolant level again.<\/p>

Always pressure test the cooling system to detect leaks. Always do this with a cold engine and also always check the coolant cap.<\/p>

For a long lifespan of the radiator, coolant pump, and other components of the cooling system, it is important to use the correct coolant.<\/p>

For classic Mercedes models, a suitable blue-green, silicate-based coolant is often used. This helps protect the cooling system against corrosion, deposits, and internal degradation. Always check the prescribed specification for the specific vehicle and engine type.<\/p>

Waterless coolant can be an alternative to conventional coolant when suitable for the specific application and applied correctly.<\/p>
