Thermally controlled viscous coupling for the radiator fan of various Mercedes models with the M119 V8 petrol engine.<\/p>\n

The viscous coupling regulates the drive of the radiator fan depending on the temperature. When extra cooling is required, the coupling drives the fan more strongly. In the event of a defective or worn viscous coupling, the fan may be insufficiently driven, causing the engine temperature to rise, especially at low speed, idling, or during high ambient temperatures.<\/p>\n
