Power steering fluid replacement recommendation
Power steering fluid is often forgotten during maintenance, but this oil also ages. We recommend replacing the power steering fluid at least every 6 to 8 years., also for classic cars that drive few kilometers.
Over time, the properties of the oil can deteriorate, and dirt particles, moisture, and wear material can accumulate in the hydraulic system. Regularly replacing the oil and filter helps prevent contamination and premature wear of the power steering pump, the steering rack and other parts of the hydraulic system to limit.
Use only hydraulic oil or power steering fluid suitable for the specific Mercedes model and power steering system. The Mercedes factory specifications are the guiding principle in this regard.
Always check before purchase and installation whether the part is suitable and equivalent based on photos, description, and specifications; installed or used parts cannot be returned.
