Different battery sizes may have been used within the same Mercedes model range. In some of the models mentioned, this battery size was only available with certain engine variants or versions, or as Sonderausstattung – factory option, mounted.

For the Mercedes R107, this applies to versions where the battery is placed in the trunk, among others.

Moreover, with a classic or youngtimer, a different battery size, battery box, mounting, or modified battery cables may have been installed over the years.

Therefore, always check the existing battery, available space, dimensions, terminal position, and mounting before ordering.

Important: An AGM battery is not automatically suitable for every original Mercedes charging system. Check whether the charging voltage and charging behavior of the alternator and voltage regulator are suitable for this AGM battery. The battery manufacturer's specifications are the guiding principle in this regard.

Advice for classic cars and modern classics

For a Mercedes classic or youngtimer that is not used daily, we recommend a suitable maintenance loader with AGM function.
