Installation advice

Never install the camshaft and camshaft bearing housings dry. Before assembly, apply sufficient clean engine oil or a suitable assembly oil to all bearing points and moving contact surfaces.

Carefully inspect the camshaft and bearing surfaces for wear, damage, and dimensional deviations before installation. Because these bearing housings are manufactured in standard size and not a repair size, the camshaft and associated bearing points must fall within the prescribed dimensions and tolerances.

Mount the bearing housings in the correct position and in the prescribed order. Always adhere to the prescribed tightening torques and factory specifications of the specific engine. After installation, the camshaft must be able to rotate freely without abnormal resistance or jamming.

Rapid build-up of oil pressure is important during the first start. Therefore, ensure that all bearing points are sufficiently supplied with engine oil or assembly oil during assembly, so that the newly installed bearing surfaces do not run dry during the first rotations.
