Original red vacuum modulator – parts kit for the automatic transmission, applied to various classic Mercedes models and certain Porsche 928 models.

This original red vacuum modulator is no longer regularly available for years. We have managed to find a few original copies and can therefore offer them temporarily.

The vacuum modulator regulates the modulation pressure of the automatic transmission and thereby has a direct influence on the shifting behavior and shifting hardness. A defective or leaking vacuum modulator can cause, among other things, hard, abnormal, or irregular shifting.

Various versions of the vacuum modulator have been used in these automatic transmissions. Therefore, always check the full transmission number and the version of the mounted vacuum modulator.

Important

The correct vacuum modulator is determined in the first place by the full type and version number of the automatic gearbox. Therefore, the car model, year of manufacture, and engine type alone are not sufficient to determine the correct vacuum modulator.

After installation, the modulation pressure must always be adjusted according to the factory specifications of the respective automatic transmission. Simply replacing the vacuum modulator without correctly adjusting the modulation pressure is not sufficient.

After adjustment, the shifting behavior of the automatic transmission must also be checked.
