Replacement advice
Due to aging, the rubber transmission oil cooler hoses can harden, become porous and develop cracks. This can cause transmission oil to leak.
In the event of a severe leak or a ruptured hose, the automatic transmission may receive insufficient oil, with severe transmission damage as a possible consequence.
We therefore recommend replacing old and outdated oil cooler hoses preventively and also checking the other hoses and pipes of the transmission cooling system.
Installation advice
During installation, check the connections, seals, and position of the hose. Avoid kinking, twisting, and contact with moving or hot parts.
After installation, check the transmission oil level according to the Mercedes workshop manual and check the system for leaks.
Important: The original Mercedes workshop manual is the governing document. Use the correct assembly procedures and torque specifications.
Always check before purchase and installation whether the part is suitable and equivalent based on photos, description, and specifications; installed or used parts cannot be returned.
