Description

Injector sleeve sealing ring O-ring M102 M116 M117 – Mercedes R107 C107 W126 C126 W201

This rubber sealing ring for the injector sleeve ensures a good seal around the injector sleeve of the fuel injection system. The O-ring is used in various classic Mercedes petrol engines from the M102, M116, and M117 series with K-Jetronic, KA-Jetronic and certain KE-Jetronic versions.

The sealing ring is manufactured from FPM fluororubber, a material with good resistance to fuel, oil, and higher temperatures.

Due to age and heat, a sealing ring can harden, deform, or become damaged. As a result, the seal around the injector sleeve can lose its effectiveness.

False air and possible engine damage

A leaking seal around the injector sleeve can false air cause. This can disrupt the fuel-air mixture, with possible consequences including poor starting, irregular idling, hesitation, and problems tuning the engine.

Driving with false air for an extended period can cause engine damage under certain circumstances. If this results in an excessively lean mixture, the thermal load on the affected cylinder may increase. This can ultimately lead to damaged exhaust valves, valve seats, and, in the event of severe mixture deviations or detonation, damage to pistons.

Adjusting the engine to run richer is not a solution for a leaking seal. The cause of the false air must be remedied first.

We recommend replacing old or damaged seals preventively when the injector sleeves are removed.
