Description
Injector sleeve rubber M102 M103 M104 M116 M117 M119 – Mercedes R107 R129 W124 W126 W140 W201 W463
This injector sleeve rubber, also known as sealing rubber for the injector sleeve or guide for the injection valve, is applied to various classic Mercedes petrol engines with K-Jetronic, KA-Jetronic and KE-Jetronic.
The rubber ensures the correct positioning and sealing of the fuel injector in the injector holder. A good seal prevents uncontrolled air from entering the intake system past the injector.
Due to age and heat, these rubbers can harden, shrink, or crack. This results false air, causing the fuel-air mixture to be disrupted. This can lead to an irregular idle speed, poor starting, an overly lean mixture, and problems tuning the engine.
Important: driving with false air for an extended period can cause engine damage. If this results in an overly lean mixture, combustion temperatures can rise under certain circumstances. This can ultimately lead to damage to exhaust valves and pistons, among other things.
We therefore recommend replacing old, hardened injector sleeve seals preventively when the injectors or injector sleeves are removed. In the event of irregular engine operation, checking for false air is an important part of the diagnosis.
This part is sold individually. One rubber seal is required per injector and cylinder.
