Intake manifold gasket for the left side of the Mercedes M116 and M117 V8 petrol engines with K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection.

Left is the driver's side, viewed in the direction of travel of the car. This applies to both European and American Mercedes models with the steering wheel on the left.

This gasket ensures a good seal between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. A good seal is essential for K-Jetronic particularly important. Due to aging and temperature fluctuations, the gasket may start to leak, causing the engine to draw in false air. This can lead to an irregular idle speed, starting problems, and difficulties in properly tuning the engine.

3. When replacing, also check the gasket of the right cylinder bank and the other seals, vacuum hoses, and connections for aging and damage.
4. Remove old gasket residue and carefully clean the sealing surfaces. Check them for damage and deformation.
5. Install the gasket in accordance with the Mercedes installation instructions and prescribed torque values.
6. After installation, check for air leaks and smooth engine operation. At K-Jetronic False air can strongly affect engine tuning.
