NOS – New Old Stock. New, unused seals from old stock.
Seal between the two intake manifold halves of various Mercedes models with the M116, M117 and M119 V8 petrol engines.
This part is being assembled between the upper and lower parts of the intake manifold and ensures a good seal of the connection.
An aged, hardened, or damaged gasket can cause false air. As a result, the engine may run irregularly, idle poorly, or be difficult to adjust.
For gasoline engines, proper sealing of the intake system is particularly important. False air can affect the operation and adjustment of the injection system and cause an overly lean air-fuel mixture. In the event of prolonged or severe leakage, this can lead to engine damage under certain circumstances.

Additional information
1. For a For a V8 engine, 8 seals are needed.. These are sold individually.
2. In our workshop, we regularly see that these seals have been damaged by mechanics during assembly. Therefore, work with particular care and check that all seals are correctly positioned before securing the intake manifold.
3. Pay close attention to the prescribed tightening torques. Tighten the fasteners carefully and evenly. Overtightening can cause material deformation, damage to the seals, and new leaks.
4. When replacing, also check the other gaskets, seals, and vacuum connections of the intake manifold for aging and damage.
5. Remove old sealing residue and carefully clean the mounting surfaces. Check them for damage and deformation.
6. After assembly, check the intake system for false air and check if the engine runs smoothly.
7. This concerns old, unused stock. Any minor signs of storage do not affect suitability, provided the part is undamaged.
8. The official Mercedes workshop manual and factory specifications always take precedence.
Always check before purchase and installation whether the part is suitable and equivalent based on photos, description, and specifications; installed or used parts cannot be returned.
