Radiator fan viscous coupling locking tool – Mercedes M103 M104 engine

Special tools for the Blocking of the viscous coupling pulley and radiator fan with Mercedes engines from the M103 and M104 series.

With this locking tool, the pulley can be secured, allowing the viscous coupling mounting bolt to be loosened and tightened in a controlled manner. Practical for work on, among other things, the viscous coupling, radiator fan, multi-V belt, belt tensioner, water pump, radiator, air conditioning condenser, timing and distributor cap.

Instructions for use

At the left side – the driver's side in both European and American vehicles – of the bearing housing on which the viscous coupling is mounted, There are two grooves. Place the locking tool between these two grooves.

Next, carefully rotate the pulley via the viscous coupling mounting bolt until the locking tool engages in the designated position. The pulley is now locked, and the viscous coupling mounting bolt can be loosened.

For assembly, the procedure is performed in reverse order. Always check that the locking tool is correctly positioned and engages firmly before applying force to the fastening bolt.
